Who is Taraji P. Henson

Who is Taraji Penda Henson? She is an Academy Award-nominated American actress. She is best known for her roles as Yvette in Baby Boy (2001), Shug in Hustle and Flow (2005) and Queenie in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008).

Henson was born September 11, 1970 in Southeast Washington, DC, the daughter of Bernice, a manager at Woodward & Lothrop, and Boris Henson, a janitor.[1] She attended Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, MD. Henson's first and middle name are of Swahili origin with her first name meaning "hope" and her middle name meaning "love."[2] She first attended NC A&T where she started a major in Electrical Engineering. She later transferred to Howard University.[3]

Henson worked two jobs—in the morning as a secretary at the Pentagon and in the night as a singing and dancing waitress on a dinner cruise ship— to pay for Howard University. She graduated with a degree in Theater Arts. Her son Marcel was born in 1995; his father, M.J. was murdered in 2002. Taraji's father died in 2006.[4]
Taraji Henson is the great granddaughter of Matthew Henson, one of the explorers who discovered the Geographic North Pole.[5]
Henson has said in an interview that her philosophy in life is: "Love as often as you can. Dance like nobody's watching. Travel. Eat. Try new foods because, like my character says, you never know what's coming for you and when it's time to let go, you got to let go."[6]

Ms. Henson has appeared in the films Four Brothers (2005), Talk To Me (2007), Smokin' Aces (2007), Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys (2008),[7] and Not Easily Broken (2009).[8] In late 2008, she starred opposite Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Henson plays the role of Queenie, Benjamin's mother, in a performance which has garnered critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.[9] She noted in an interview that, "Queenie is the embodiment of unconditional love."[10]
Henson has also been a cast member on several television shows, including Lifetime Television's The Division and ABC's Boston Legal for one season.[11] Her recurring appearances in television include the character Angela Scott on the ABC television show "Eli Stone" in December 2008. She has guest-starred on several television shows, such as The WB show Smart Guy playing the role of Monique (1997–1998), the Fox Television show House in 2005 and the CBS Television show CSI in 2006.[12]

Henson made her singing debut in Hustle & Flow; she provided the vocals for the Three 6 Mafia track "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp". The song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2006, giving Three 6 the distinction of becoming the first Black hip-hop act to win in the category. Henson performed the song at the Oscars on March 5, 2006 with the group.
Henson has made several appearances on music videos. Henson appeared in the rapper Common's music video called Testify in 2005 as the wife of a soon to be convicted murderer. On December 5, 2008, Jamie Foxx premiered his new music video "Just Like Me" on TBS featuring Henson and T.I.

Who is Emilie de Ravin

Who is Emilie de Ravin? [1] [2] She is an Australian actress. She became famous by starring in the popular teen series Roswell, but gained even greater fame by starring in the hit ABC drama Lost as Claire Littleton.
Ravin's film credits include Santa's Slay, Ball Don't Lie and the box-office hit The Hills have Eyes. She is also known for her role as Brendan Frye's heroin-addicted ex-girlfriend Emily in the neo-noir film Brick. Ravin was included on Maxim's Hot 100 list three times, in 2005, on #47,[3] the next year on #65,[4] and in 2008 on #68.[5] She is set to appear with Johnny Depp in the upcoming film Public Enemies.[6]

Ravin was born 27 December 1981 in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia, a town to the south east of Melbourne.[7] She has French[8] and British ancestry, and de Ravin means from (the) ravie in French. Having studied ballet since the age of nine at Christa Cameron School of Ballet in Melbourne, and being home schooled by her mother, she was accepted into the Australian Ballet School at fifteen. There, she performed in productions with The Australian Ballet as well as Danceworld 301.[9] Ravin studied acting at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art,[2] and with the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.[10]

Emilie de Ravin's first major role was a recurring part as Curupira in the TV series BeastMaster.[11] She went on to appear as alien/human hybrid Tess Harding in the teen television series, Roswell.[12] She landed this role one month after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 18.[9][13] In 2004, Ravin was cast to portray Claire Littleton on the hit ABC drama Lost. In answer to if she expected the success of Lost, Ravin said: "It's sort of hard to say. You read something and have a good feeling about it, it sounds great, ties nicely together and then shooting something, editing it, the music, the actors involved, everything sort of plays a huge part. Everyone involved had a great feeling towards it, but you never really know".[14] Ravin was a series regular for the first four seasons, but will not return as a series regular for the fifth season; although she will be on a "holding contract" and will return as a regular in the sixth season.[15] In 2005, Ravin was cast to portray Emily Kostich, the heroin-addicted ex-girlfriend of Brendan Frye (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), in the neo-noir film Brick.

In an interview about the film, Ravin told that she was attracted by the script because it was original and the teens in the film are very deep and emotional for their age.[16] In 2006, she starred in the remake of the 1977 horror film The Hills Have Eyes as Brenda Carter. In 2007, Variety reported that she would be staring in the film Ball Don't Lie,[17][18] which premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and will arrive at the cinemas early 2009. Ravin will appear in William Dear's The Perfect Game,[19] and in the 2009 film Public Enemies as a bank teller named Anna Patzke.[6] Ravin was cast in the movie adaption of the video game Onimusha, but due to producer Samuel Hadida's other project The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and Heath Ledger's death, Hadida was forced to push back the release date of the film. Onimusha is postponed for an unknown amount of time and there is not any confirmation if Ravin will continue the project.[20]

After three years of dating, actor Josh Janowicz proposed to Ravin on New Year's Day in Melbourne, which she said "was very impromptu and very sweet".[12] Ravin became engaged to Janowicz on 1 January 2005, while visiting Ravin's family in Australia.[21] Ravin met Janowicz in Los Angeles, and said that "our life together always comes before work. You can't buy love or family."[11] While filming Lost, Ravin flew to and from Hawaii "once or twice a week" to return to her home in Burbank, California, which she shared with Janowicz and their poodle, Bella.[12] The couple married 19 June 2006 in Melbourne, Australia.[21] Ravin separated from Janowicz six months after their marriage, and currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her dog.[22]

Who is The Jabbawockeez?

Who is the Jabbawockeez? The entertainment & dance world knows the Jabbawockeez as a seven-member, male, hip-hop dance crew best known for being the winners of the first season of America's Best Dance Crew. They were initially formed by members Kevin "KB" Brewer, Phil "Swagger Boy" Tayag, & Joe "Punkee" Larot under the name "3 Muskee". By 2004, their members included Ben "B-Tek" Chung, Chris "Cristyle" Gatdula, Rynan "Kid Rainen" Paguio, and Jeff "Phi" Nguyen. The Jabbawockeez do not have a leader of the group; choreography for their performances as well as music and design choices are made as a collective unit.[4] They always perform wearing white masks (rare they wear other colour mask) and white gloves.[4]

Contents

Early Career

Phil "Swagger Boy" Tayag, Kevin "KB" Brewer, and Joe "Punkee" Larot began performing as a trio called "Three Musky" in Sacramento, California while wearing white masks and gloves. The mask and glove motif was adopted as a tribute to the 1960s San Francisco strutting crew Medea Sirkas. Gary "Gee One" Kendall and Randy "DJ Wish One" Bernal were both members of the MindTricks dance crew who were active in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both the MindTricks dance crew and the Three Muskee were friends and associates with each other. Tayag, Brewer, and Larot all later moved to the San Diego area and what began as an effort to start a Southern California chapter of the MindTricks crew later evolved into JabbaWockeeZ.
Established in 2003[4] in San Diego, California, Jabbawockeez is the brainchild of the "Three Musky" who wanted to showcase freestyle dance. The name Jabbawockeez, coined by Joe Larot, was inspired by the fantastical monster from the Lewis Carroll nonsense poem Jabberwocky.[4] The white masks and gloves from Phil, Kevin, and Joe's performances as Three Musky were adopted as the visual signature of the group. In San Diego, through Gary's connections, the Jabbawockeez added b-boys Rynan "Kid Rainen" Paguio and Chris "Cristyle" Gatdula to the group. The original seven member iteration of the Jabbawockeez began performing as a group in 2004. This lineup consisted of Gary, Randy, Phil, Kevin, Joe, Rynan, and Chris.
Jabbawockeez rounded out their numbers with additional members, bringing their total to eleven. Phoenix native Jeff "Phi" Nguyen had met Rynan Paguio at various Los Angeles area auditions and performances and earned a spot in the Jabbawockeez in 2004 by battling Kevin Brewer.[4] The Jabbawockeez also brought Kaba Modern alumnus Ben "B-Tek" Chung and b-boys Eddie "Eddiestyles" Gutierrez and Saso "Saso Fresh" Jimenez into the fold. Stylistically, the Jabbawockeez style of dance features an eclectic mix of various urban styles, primarily popping & b-boying, along with a careful synchronicity to choreography which one member dubs "Beat-Kune-Do" (a play on the word "Jeet Kune Do", a martial arts style created by Bruce Lee). In 2007, the JabbaWockeeZ appeared on the second season of America's Got Talent. Performing with nine members, the group was eliminated in the Las Vegas callbacks episode. In 2008, they auditioned and were accepted onto the first season of America's Best Dance Crew.

America's Best Dance Crew

The Jabbawockeez auditioned a seven-member contingent for the first season of America's Best Dance Crew, because of crew member limits imposed by the show. Originally, the ABDC group was supposed to consist of Gary Kendell, Phil Tayag, Kevin Brewer, Joe Larot, Rynan Paguio, Chris Gatdula, and Phi Nguyen; however, Gary died that year, and Joe suffered a knee injury during the audition rounds. The group chose Ben Chung to replace Joe on the show and left Gary's spot vacant, proceeding with six members. They eventually went on to become the winners of the show. The win earned the crew $100,000 (USD).[5]

Who is Amanda Lee Rogers?

Who is Amanda Lee Rogers? The world knows her as Portia de Rossi. She is an Australian actress, best known for her roles as lawyer Nelle Porter on the television series Ally McBeal and as Lindsay Bluth Fünke on the sitcom Arrested Development.

De Rossi was born January 31, 1973 Amanda Lee Rogers in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Margaret, a medical receptionist, and Barry Rogers.[1] She was raised in Grovedale, a suburb of Geelong. As a child, she modeled for print and TV commercials. She adopted the name Portia de Rossi at a young age:

When I was 15, I changed it legally. In retrospect, I think it was largely due to my struggle about being gay. Everything just didn’t fit, and I was trying to find things I could identify myself with, and it started with my name. I picked Portia because I was a Shakespeare fan (Portia is the character in The Merchant of Venice who comes to the rescue of Antonio and Bassanio in their time of need). De Rossi because I was Australian and I thought that an exotic Italian name would somehow suit me more than Amanda Rogers. When you live in Australia, Europe is so far away and so fascinating, so stylish and cultured and sophisticated.[2]
She studied at Geelong Grammar School and Melbourne Girls Grammar School, then the University of Melbourne Law School, but left before finishing the course to pursue an acting career.

De Rossi is openly lesbian.[2] She was married to documentary filmmaker Mel Metcalfe from 1996 to 1999, but says she married him as an attempt at obtaining a green card and that "it just obviously wasn't right" for her.[2] From 2000 to 2004, de Rossi dated singer Francesca Gregorini, daughter of actress Barbara Bach and stepchild of Ringo Starr. De Rossi says most of her family and Ally McBeal castmates didn't know she was gay until tabloid pictures of the couple were published.[2] She declined to publicly discuss the relationship or her sexual orientation at the time.

De Rossi and Gregorini broke up in late 2004 as de Rossi began dating talk show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres. In 2005, de Rossi opened up publicly about her sexual orientation in interviews with Details and The Advocate. She and DeGeneres married in August 2008[3] and live in Beverly Hills, California. They are both vegan.[4]

Portia supports a variety of charitable organizations, including Locks of Love, a group that buys wigs for children with medical hair loss. Portia has also supported fundraising efforts for FXB International[5], an African AIDS relief organzation; and The Art of Elysium[6], an art foundation for terminally ill children.
According to cfidarren.com, Portia is a helicopter pilot, trained by her brother.

Her first significant role was playing a young and impressionable model in the Australian 1994 film Sirens. Soon afterwards she moved to Los Angeles and had guest roles on several TV shows, and a permanent role in Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, before landing a role in the film Scream 2. She attracted international attention when she joined the main cast of the Ally McBeal TV series in 1998 playing lawyer Nelle Porter. She remained with the show until its end in 2002.
In 2001, she starred in Who is Cletis Tout? with Christian Slater. From 2003–2006, de Rossi starred as Lindsay Bluth Fünke on Fox Television's critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning series Arrested Development.

She also portrayed John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s wife, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, in a made for TV movie.
From 2007-2008, de Rossi appears in Nip/Tuck's fifth season as Julia McNamara's latest girlfriend Olivia Lord. Due to the writers strike, the show was forced to take a break. In 2009, the concluding 8 episodes of season 5 will air.
She will reprise her role as Lindsay Bluth Fünke in 2009's film adaptation of Arrested Development[7].

De Rossi was named number 67 in Stuff's 100 Sexiest Women, 31 in Femme Fatales' Sexiest Women of 2003 list, 24 in Maxim's 100 Sexiest Women List in 2004, and in late 2006, the magazine Blender listed her as one of the hottest women of film and TV [8]. In May 2007, she was featured as one of 100 Most Beautiful in People Magazine special edition. TV Guide included de Rossi and DeGeneres in their Power A-List couples in 2007.

Who is Kelly Michelle Lee Osbourne

Kelly Michelle Lee Osbourne is an English television personality, singer, award-winning actress, radio presenter, fashion designer and model. She is the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne first rose to fame in The Osbournes, the Emmy-winning reality TV series about her famous father and his family.

Kelly Osbourne was born October 27, 1984 in the City of Westminster, London, the middle child of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, the others being her older sister Aimee and her younger brother Jack. She also has two half-siblings: Jessica Hobbs and Louis John Osbourne from Ozzy's first marriage. She also had an unofficially "adopted" brother, Robert Marcato, who Sharon and Ozzy adopted after Marcato's mother died. Kelly grew up traveling with her father as he went on tour, and lived in more than 20 homes.[1]

Kelly Osbourne and the rest of her immediate family (without Aimee) were thrust into the international spotlight with the MTV reality show The Osbournes. It chronicled their day-to-day life, and the show became a runaway hit for its portrayal of a dysfunctional, though close-knit, family where metal music, profanity and other harshness were a daily part of life. Kelly, the middle child, emerged (according to Rolling Stone) as "a wickedly funny, brutally honest, pint-size, potty-mouthed spitfire."[2]

Her debut album, Shut Up!, was released in 2002 to moderate sales, fueled mostly by a cover version of the hit Madonna song "Papa Don't Preach", which was debuted with Houston rock band Pure Rubbish at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards.[3] Osbourne's 2002 debut with Epic Records, "Shut Up!", debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The album was met with bad critical reviews and, by May 2003, Osbourne had been dropped from Epic Records. However, by autumn she had resurfaced on the Sanctuary label, later recording a duet of "Changes" (a Black Sabbath song) with her father. The duet hit #1 on the UK charts, a first for both father of the Billboard charts to top all three dance surveys in the same week.[4] However, the album was not without controversy, due to its reportedly heavily-altered album cover, in which Osbourne appeared slimmer,[5] despite her previous assertions of being happy with her size.

Kelly was forced to back out of her final performance in West End musical Chicago after the 31 October 2007 incident that injured her back.
Kelly is rumored to have been writing for her 3rd album, a follow up to 2005's Sleeping in the Nothing. In an interview she gave last year she was hoping to have the album out by the end of 2008 at the earliest, after she finished working on Chicago. Her album will be released by Sanctuary Records, the record label which also released Sleeping in the Nothing.
Osbourne's third studio album Nightmare will be released on 20 May, 2009.

Osbourne made her debut as an actress with a starring role on 7 October 2004 on the ABC high school teen drama Life As We Know It, where she played the supporting role of Deborah Beatrice Tynan. In June 2006, Osbourne played the role of Wendy from Peter Pan in The Queen's Handbag. In 2006, Osbourne provided a voice for the animated film Live Freaky Die Freaky. In July 2007, it was announced Osbourne was to take on the role of prison matron Mama Morton in the musical drama Chicago.[7] Her seven-week run (from 10 September) in the musical at the Cambridge Theatre would be her stage debut, London's The Stage performing arts weekly reported.[8]She won the Glamour Award for Theatre Actress of the Year.[citation needed]
In 2008 she features in the short musical film 'The Town that Boars Me' by photographer Ben Charles Edwards. The film also features Sadie Frost Jodie Harsh, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Zandra Rhodes amongst others. The film is set to debut in late summer at the Portobello Film Festival [9][10].

Since her rise to fame, Osbourne has been called on to present for various events. Osbourne co-hosted the 2006 edition of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here! Now, a spin-off show of the main ITV1 programme. She hosted alongside Jeff Brazier in Australia, and Mark Durden-Smith in the London studio. Her one-off gigs include the 2002 MTV Movie Awards, Top of the pops Saturday, MTV's Isle of MTV, MTV UK and Ireland's red carpet coverage of the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards, Popworld, The Friday Night Project, the 2005 MTV Australia Video Music Awards and Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. In spring 2006 Osbourne was one of the judges on Making Your Mind Up.
Kelly recently presented ITV2's coverage of the National Television Awards with her brother Jack, and a documentary on Japanese pop culture called Kelly Osbourne: Turning Japanese for the same network.[11]
In January 2007, Osbourne began presenting Project Catwalk for Sky1. In Autumn 2007, Osbourne signed to BBC Radio 1 to host the Sunday night show, Radio 1's The Surgery, and on 7 October 2007 she went on air for the first time with the issue of self harm. - From October 2008, for two and a half months, Osbourne will be taking a break from presenting The Surgery, whilst she presents a weekly television variety show in Los Angeles, with the rest of her family. She will return to the show in early 2009 and whilst she is away, Aled from theChris Moyles Show will be presenting the show. In spring 2008, she began contributing a teenage advice column to the tabloid newspaper The Sun, "Kelly Confidential", where she is billed as the teen trouble shooter.

After her appearance on the reality show, Osbourne quickly began to be noted for her varied and trendy style among fashion commentators like Steven Cojocaru[12][13] In 2004, Osbourne launched her own fashion line, Stiletto Killers,[14] with friend Ali Barone. Stiletto Killers was a rock-inspired line of tees, knickers, hoodies, and sweatpants designed by Osbourne and Barone, emblazoned with cartoonish designs and punk rock phrases. There was also a more sophisticated couture branch, The SK Collection. Stiletto Killers closed in April 2006.
In 2006, Osbourne became the face of the high street chain Accessorize in a campaign which was seen across Europe, Canada, Russia, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and the Middle East. In the spring of that year, Osbourne modelled for Heatherette in a catwalk show which also featured Naomi Campbell.

She's a well known fashion model, having graced the covers of Vogue, Elle, GQ, among others. She experimented with glamour modeling as well, appearing in Nuts and Zoo. She won the 2007 Models Award.[15]

Kelly sports many tattoos all over her body, including a skull-and-crossbones design on both feet, small angel wings on her back, an outlined star on the back of her neck, a tiny pink heart on her hip, a ship's anchor on the back of her left forearm, a tiny pink heart on her little finger (the same as ex-boyfriend Bert McCracken), a padlock and key with the word "Daddy" above it, a musical keyboard on the back of her right forearm, and the name of her brother, Jack, on her wrist.a[›]

Beginning in 2002, Kelly began publicly making disparaging remarks about pop singer Christina Aguilera,[2] and, on one episode of The Osbournes, mimicked Aguilera's "overexaggerated" vocals. Osbourne even got into a fight with her brother Jack for speaking to Aguilera at a club. Things came to a boiling point at the 2003 MTV Europe Awards,[16] which were hosted by Aguilera. Osbourne called Aguilera a "fat cow" on the red carpet. For the first time publicly, Aguilera responded in a pre-taped skit used as the introduction to the program: Aguilera was seen throwing darts at a poster of Osbourne. Osbourne, retaliated while presenting an award, commenting that she felt honored to have Aguilera sink so low after all she has achieved, and was booed by the audience. It's still unknown why Osbourne developed animosity for the singer. Aguilera later called Osbourne "a little girl who can't handle a rebuttal".
