Who is Melina Nava Perez?

Who is Melina Nava Perez[6]? The world knows her as Melina, she is an American professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling on its SmackDown brand.

On March 9th, 1979 a diva was born. Her name was Melina Nava Perez and she was ready to take on the world. Melina started out her career as a model when she won a Miss California beauty contest and also modeled athletic wear for Nike.Soon the wrestling bug bit her and she decided to become a professional wrestler in 2000. Melina started training at the School of Hard Knocks, owned by Jesse Hernandez. She made her pro debut in April 2002.She started to wrestle at some California wrestling promotions such as EWF and CRUSH under the ring names Kyra and Melanie Little Deer. She soon auditioned for WWE's Tough Enough where the winner will be signed to a contract with WWE. Melina was eliminated in the final cut for the first episode. After she was eliminated from the competition former WWE superstar Al Snow pulled her aside and encouraged her to keep on pursuing her dream as a wrestler.
Even though she was eliminated form the Tough Enough competition WWE still signed her to a developmental contract in 2004 and therefore our beautiful Melina debuted in then WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling in March 2004.Melina's debuts angle was as real-life boyfriend John Hennigan's ex girlfriend. The Storyline had Melina debut to taunt John Hennigan along with Matt Cappotelli. However Melina turned on Cappotelli and aligned herself with John Hennigan who had then changed his name to Johnny Nitro.Soon after all of this Melina and Nitro teamed up with Joey Matthews (Joey Mercury) and therefore MNM was born.Together Melina led MNM to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. It as also in OVW that Melina along with Nitro and Steve Adkins came up with her famous split entrance. While in OVW, Melina had made several appearences in the WWE.For example, on a Thanksgiving episode of SmackDown! in 2003, she dressed up as a Native American and was shown serving food and drinks.Melina made her first Raw appearance on November 29, 2004 when Randy Orton was the guest General Manager and hosted a diva lingerie fashion show. She made another Raw appearance in December, participating in a limbo contest when Chris Jericho was General Manager for the night.

MNM made their offcial WWE debut on the April 14,2005 editon of SmackDown! interupting Carlitos Cabana.During their debut they beat up Rey Mysterio and claimed that they will be the next Tag Team Champions. They soon faced the current Campions Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio and defeated them to mark their first reign as WWE Tag Team Champions.Over the next few months Melina's charactor became more egotistical and claimed herself to be "The Most Dominant Diva in the WWE".Soon after this claim she started to feud with Michelle McCool which ultimatly led to Melina's first match against McCool in which she won and McCool got injured. After a few more matches for Melina and even a title shot for the Womens Championship at Survivor Series, which she lost, and a few more title reigns for MNM it was time to say goodbye.MNM broke up at Judgement Day 2006 after MNM lost their titles to Paul London and Brian Kendrick.Nitro and Melina attacked Mercury blaming the lost on him.Melina also lost to rival Jillian Hall that night.Melina and Nitro confronted SmackDown! GM Teddy Long about the rough night which led to Melina slapping him and getting herself and Nitro kayfabe fired from the smackdown brand.

After a few weeks from getting fired from the SmackDown! brand Melina and Nitro made their RAW debut against John Cena which they lost. After about a year on the RAW brand Melina went solo and made history by defeating rival Mickie James and becoming the only former Tough Enough contestant to be WWE Womens Champion.Melina soon retained her title against James in the first ever Womens Falls Count Anywhere match in WWE history.Since then Melina is now a 3-time Womens champion and has feuded with the likes of Ashley Massaro, Trish Stratus, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, and most recently Beth Phoenix. We are sure that Melina is just getting started in her quest to being the greatest diva in WWE and i am sure it won't stop anytime soon.So get Ready and strap on your seatbelt cuz with Melina nothing is predictible and we are sure it is gonna be a bumpy ride.

After becoming interested in wrestling, Melina joined the independent professional wrestling circuit before ultimately joining WWE in 2004. Initially, she was a manager for the tag team of MNM. She managed them to three reigns as WWE Tag Team Champions,[7] as well as former boyfriend and MNM member Johnny Nitro to two reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champion.[8][9] Melina made her WWE singles debut in 2005, and is a three-time WWE Women's Champion, winning the belt twice in 2007 and once in 2009.[10]

Perez began her career as a model. She won a Miss California beauty contest and also modeled athletic wear for Nike.[9] She decided to become a professional wrestler after talking to Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF) superstar Mike Henderson in 2000.[3][11] Perez started training at Jesse Hernandez's School of Hard Knocks in San Bernardino, California and made her professional debut in April 2002.[5][12] Many EWF officials stated that she had the most natural ability of any woman who came through their school.[13] In late 2002 Perez auditioned for World Wrestling Entertainment's reality show Tough Enough III, making it through to the final twenty-one before being eliminated from the competition in the final cut of the first episode.[1][13][14][15] After she was eliminated from the contest, trainer Al Snow pulled Perez aside and encouraged her to keep trying to pursue her dream as a wrestler.[16]

Perez debuted in WWE's developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in March 2004, being placed in an angle as John Hennigan's ex-girlfriend. The storyline had Matt Cappotelli introduce her to the ring as a way to taunt Hennigan.[2] Melina, however, turned on Cappotelli and aligned herself with Hennigan, who later changed his ring name to Johnny Nitro.[2] Soon after, Melina and Nitro began teaming with Joey Matthews, later known as Joey Mercury.[2] The trio became known as MNM and on November 10, Melina managed Mercury and Nitro to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.[17] During her time in OVW, Melina, Nitro, and Steven Adkins came up with Melina's trademark split ring entrance.[18]

Melina made her first Raw appearance on November 29, 2004, when Randy Orton was the guest General Manager and hosted a diva lingerie fashion show.[19] She made another Raw appearance in December, participating in a limbo contest when Chris Jericho was General Manager for the night.[20]

MNM made their debut in WWE as a villainous tag team on the April 14, 2005, edition of SmackDown!.[21] The team interrupted the first ever Carlito's Cabana interview segment, where one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Rey Mysterio, was a guest.[21] Melina insulted Mysterio and had Mercury and Nitro attack him, leading to MNM's in-ring debut the next week on SmackDown! in a title match. The team was booked to win the match against Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, starting their first WWE Tag Team Title reign.[22][23]

While managing the Tag Team Champions, Melina's character was developed to be more egotistical as she declared herself "the most-dominant Diva in WWE."[1] She made her official WWE in-ring debut on June 30 against Michelle McCool and had her first pay-per-view match (a Bra and Panties match) at The Great American Bash against Torrie Wilson, winning both matches.[24][25] Also at The Great American Bash, MNM dropped their championship to the Legion of Doom, prompting a new storyline where Melina hired Jillian Hall, a "fixer", to assist them.[25][26] MNM regained the title on October 28 in a Fatal Four-Way tag team match.[27] On the Eddie Guerrero Tribute Show Melina won an interpromotional Divas battle royal by eliminating Women's Champion Trish Stratus.[28] The next week, MNM kayfabe kidnapped Stratus and Melina challenged her to a match for the Women's Championship.[29] The two fought at Survivor Series, with Melina losing to Stratus after interference from Mickie James.[30]

During this time, MNM was booked to defend their title against Rey Mysterio and the World Heavyweight Champion Batista. Melina was placed in an angle with her trying to make Batista call off the match by visiting him in his locker room and attempting to seduce him. The storyline had the two engage in sexual acts, after which he simply thanked her for the "warm-up" before leaving to take part in the match, where he and Mysterio defeated MNM for the title.[31] The storyline played over to the next episode of SmackDown! when, before MNM invoked their rematch clause, Melina held a press conference in the ring where she claimed that Batista had sexually harassed her. During the tag team match, Mark Henry aided MNM in winning back the WWE Tag Team Championship.[32] The angle with Henry continued into the next year. On the first SmackDown! of 2006, Melina announced that Henry was her personal protection against Batista. He accompanied her and aided the other members of MNM in matches against Batista and Mysterio.[33]

At Judgment Day on May 21, 2006, MNM were booked to lose their Tag Team Championship to Paul London and Brian Kendrick.[34] After the match, Melina and Nitro, as part of the storyline, attacked Mercury, blaming him for the loss.[34] Later that night, Melina lost a singles match against Jillian Hall and after slapping General Manager Theodore Long in anger, she and Nitro were kayfabe fired from the SmackDown! brand.[35] Off-screen, Nitro and Mercury did not get along, and WWE management decided to split the tag team and send Nitro and Melina to the Raw brand.[36] Melina and Nitro made their way to Raw on May 29, with Nitro losing to WWE Champion John Cena.[37][38] The following week, Melina faked a sprained ankle, allowing Nitro to roll-up Charlie Haas for his first Raw victory.[39] Melina continued to manage Nitro during his successful hunt for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, while being involved in another storyline with Trish Stratus.[40][41] The angle turned into a tag team feud when Carlito joined forces with Stratus to take on Melina and Nitro.[42] At Saturday Night's Main Event on July 15, Melina and Nitro lost to Carlito and Stratus in a mixed tag team match.[43]

After Melina's arrival on Raw, Mick Foley began to mention her in promos, playing on their real friendship mentioned in his WWE.com columns, and they soon formed an on-screen friendship.[44][45] At SummerSlam, Melina was involved in Foley's "I Quit" match against Ric Flair when Flair threatened to hit her with a barbed wire baseball bat, causing Foley to quit the match to save her.[46] The next night on Raw, the storyline had Vince McMahon order Foley to join the Kiss My Ass club. Foley did not care about saving his own career, but joined after Vince threatened Melina's job.[47] After begging Foley not to go through with it, Foley "joined the club" to save Melina's job, only to have her suddenly turn on him by delivering a low blow and kayfabe firing him at the behest of McMahon.[47] This storyline was concocted by Foley to refresh the idea of the Kiss My Ass club.[47][48][49] It was also around this time that Melina added another characteristic to her gimmick: screaming loudly at ringside while managing or in tag team action, which became known as the "primal scream."[50]

On January 29, 2007, Melina became the number one contender for the WWE Women's Championship, and introduced her finisher from the independent circuit, the Kyrapractor, to WWE under the new name California Dream.[51] On February 5, Melina lost a title match against Mickie James.[52] The following week on Raw, Melina pinned James in a mixed tag team match and then challenged James again for the title.[53] On February 19, as part of her first major singles push, Melina successfully pinned James to win the WWE Women's Championship. This made Melina the first woman of Mexican heritage to win the WWE Women's Championship. She then retained the title in a rematch during the first ever Women's Falls Count Anywhere match in WWE history.[54][55]

In March, Melina was placed in an angle where she became jealous of SmackDown! Diva Ashley Massaro,
who was receiving attention because of her appearance in Playboy.[56] The angle had Melina claim in her blogs that no Playboy cover models were capable of fighting her.[57] This resulted in scheduled matches against former Playboy cover girls Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle, with both women losing to Melina.[58][59] The storyline came to a close at WrestleMania 23, where Melina pinned Ashley in a Lumberjill match to retain her Women's Championship.[60] After WrestleMania, Melina organized a photo op with the Women's Title belt in the ring but was interrupted by Mickie James, resulting in another storyline feud between the two Divas.[61] On April 24, at a house show in Paris, France, Melina lost the Women's Championship in a Triple Threat match to James when James pinned Victoria, but on the orders of Jonathan Coachman she was entitled to a rematch on the same night, where she pinned James by putting her hands on the ropes to regain the title and become a two-time WWE Women's Champion.[62]

On May 7, Melina was defeated in a tag team match when she was pinned by Candice Michelle.[63] Melina was scripted to lose to Candice in various tag team matches, as well as in non-title bouts over the next few weeks.[64][65][66] At Vengeance, Melina dropped the Women's Championship to Candice and failed to recapture the title at The Great American Bash.[67][68]

Melina, along with then-ally Beth Phoenix, defeated Maria and Ashley at WrestleMania XXIV.[69] After Phoenix lost the Women's Championship to Mickie James, she began a feud with Phoenix after Perez accidentally hit Phoenix with her boot in a lumberjill match against James.[70] The following week on Raw, Phoenix walked out on Melina during a tag match against James and Maria when Melina accidentally bumped Phoenix off the apron. Melina was then attacked by Phoenix during a backstage segment following the match, leading to her turning face for the first time in her WWE career.[71] At One Night Stand, Melina competed in a losing effort against Phoenix in the first ever Women's "I Quit" match.[72] On June 23, 2008, Perez injured her heel after falling from the turnbuckles during a tag team match with Mickie James against Natalya and Victoria.[73]

Perez made her in-ring return, ahead of schedule, at the November 13 Florida Championship Wrestling television taping, teaming with Gabe Tuft to defeat Jack Gabriel and Alicia Fox in a mixed tag team match.[74] Perez returned to WWE television on the November 24 edition of Raw as a face, teaming with former rivals Mickie James and Candice Michelle to defeat Phoenix, Jillian Hall, and Katie Lea Burchill, when Perez pinned Burchill. [75] She then made her in-ring singles return against Jillian the following week, and defeated her with her new The Last Call finisher. After the match however, Melina had stated her intentions to take the WWE Women's Championship away from Beth Phoenix.[76]

On December 29, 2008, Melina won a six-woman battle royal, to become the number one contender to the Women's Championship. After the match, Melina and Phoenix engaged in a confrontation over a fan of Phoenix's named Rosa Mendes, who had pushed Melina.[77] On January 25, 2009, Melina won her third WWE Women's Championship at the Royal Rumble by defeating Phoenix.[78] She would successfully defend her title against Phoenix numerous times over the course of the next few months.

On the April 13 episode of Raw, Melina was drafted to SmackDown in the 2009 WWE Draft making the WWE Women's Championship exclusive to the SmackDown brand. Melina then made her in-ring debut on SmackDown one month later, teaming with Gail Kim to defeat Michelle McCool and Alicia Fox. After McCool was named the new #1 Contender for the Women's Championship, they began a rivalry.[79] Melina lost the Championship to McCool at The Bash on June 28, after an interference from Fox. Melina received a rematch on July 26 at Night of Champions, but failed to recapture the Championship.

Perez is of Mexican heritage.[4] She is also bilingual, as she can speak both English and Spanish fluently.[4]

She was in a long term relationship with John Hennigan, whom she managed on-screen.[9][37] The two met during their auditions for Tough Enough III.[80] Eventually they broke up, and Perez was then in a short-term relationship wrestler Dave Batista. Batista claims that the duo began their relationship after his divorce from his wife.[81][82] Unlike some of her fellow Divas, Perez has been outspoken about her disinterest in posing for Playboy magazine.[83]

On April 13, 2008, she appeared in an episode of Celebrity Fit Club Boot Camp along with Mickie James, Layla, and Kelly Kelly.

Who is Nelson Frazier, Jr?

Who is Nelson Frazier, Jr.? [2] He is an American professional wrestler and actor, better known by his ring names Mabel, Viscera, Big Daddy V, and King V. He is best known for his work with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).[1] He is currently signed with the National Wrestling Alliance.

Throughout his career he has held championships in a number of promotions, including the top titles of the United States Wrestling Association off-shoots Memphis Wrestling[3] and Memphis Championship Wrestling,[4] and the World Wrestling Council promotion of Puerto Rico.[5] He has also held the Hardcore[6] and World Tag Team[7] titles of WWE, the company where he has spent the majority of his career.[2] Also in WWE, Frazier was the 1995 King of the Ring.Frazier was born February 14, 1972. Began his professional wrestling career under the ring name "Nelson Knight", comprising the team The Harlem Knights with his partner and on-screen brother Bobby.[2] The team wrestled in the United States Wrestling Association and the Pro Wrestling Federation (PWF), winning the PWF Tag Team Championship on two occasions,[8] before being signed by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in July 1993.

Upon coming to the WWF, the Harlem Knights were given a new gimmick: Nelson (Frazier) became "Mabel", Bobby became Mo and they were given a rapping manager named Oscar.[9] Together the new team, dubbed "Men on a Mission", was introduced to the WWF audience through vignettes that attempted to get the team across as three African American men trying to make a positive change in inner city neighborhoods—hence the team name. The group, constantly clad in purple, debuted as solid fan favorites,[10] in the tag team division and held the Tag Team Championship once, but only for two days.[7]

In 1995, Mabel and Mo betrayed and attacked Oscar, becoming villains.[10] As a villain, Mabel received a push as a singles wrestler, culminating with his winning the King of the Ring tournament in May,[11] with Mo acting as a manager. During his tenure as King of the Ring, Mabel was addressed as "King Mabel", with Mo similarly having his name changed to "Sir Mo",[10] and wore a championship belt which he had personally designed and created by belt maker Reggie Parks. The belt, proclaiming the wearer to be "King of the Ring", is a one of a kind, as the World Wrestling Federation has never created a belt for the King of the Ring.[12] Immediately after becoming King, Mabel challenged WWF Champion Diesel at August's SummerSlam, but lost.[13] Following that loss he became involved in the ongoing Yokozuna versus The Undertaker feud, helping Yokozuna attack a downed Undertaker and taking turns dropping legs across the Undertaker's face with Yokozuna until they fractured his orbital bone following a match, putting him out of action for two months.[14][15] A month after his return, the Undertaker defeated King Mabel in a Casket match at In Your House: Season's Beatings pay-per-view.[16] Mabel's last appearance with the company came at the Royal Rumble the next month, when he participated in the Royal Rumble match.

He then received bookings with the World Wrestling Federation and the Puerto Rico based World Wrestling Council (WWC). In WWC, he engaged in a rivalry with Carlos Colón, during which the Universal Heavyweight Championship was "held up" following a match between the two of them before Mabel won the championship and held it for a month.[5]

He was released from the WWF in early 1996 and spent much the next two years in Tennessee wrestling for the United States Wrestling Association, which went through a number of changes during his stay to become Memphis Championship Wrestling and Memphis Wrestling. While there, he captured the top title twice.[3][4]

On November 1, 1998 Mabel made a one time, surprise appearance at Extreme Championship Wrestling's November to Remember as a FBI member with Ulf Herman attacked Tommy Rogers and Chris Chetti until Spike Dudley made the save.On July 6, 1998 Mabel made a one time, surprise return to the World Wrestling Federation to challenge, and lose to, the new King of the Ring: Ken Shamrock.[17]

He made an official return in 1999, first appearing at the pre-show for the Royal Rumble, before appearing on the show itself, on which he was "kidnapped" by The Undertaker, his Acolytes (Bradshaw and Faarooq) and Mideon.[18] The next night, he was re-christened Viscera,[2] and he began acting as the Ministry of Darkness' enforcer, adopting a more gothic look in the process, including white-out contact lenses, a bleached mohawk, and a black bodysuit.[19]

After the July 1999 break up of the Ministry, the Viscera character floated around the mid-card, frequently teaming with fellow former Ministry member Mideon and becoming part of the burgeoning hardcore division, winning the WWF Hardcore Championship once[6] before he was released from his WWF contract again in August 2000.

In March 2003, Frazier, using his Nelson Knight name, made a surprise appearance at a weekly NWA: Total Nonstop Action pay-per-view at the side of Ron Killings.[20] He appeared again the next week,[21] but did not stay with the company beyond that.

He made a number of other independent appearances, including returning to the Memphis area where he wrestled for Memphis Championship Wrestling, holding the Southern Heavyweight Championship once, and Southern Wrestling Alliance, holding that company's top title as well.

Frazier, returning to the Viscera name, returned to the World Wrestling Federation – now renamed World Wrestling Entertainment – in September 2004. In his first appearance, he and fellow former Ministry of Darkness member Gangrel surprised and attacked their one–time stable leader, The Undertaker, on behalf of former Ministry Acolyte John "Bradshaw" Layfield.[22] After just two weeks on SmackDown!, however, he was moved to the Raw brand.[23]

In his first three months on the Raw brand, Viscera mainly wrestled on Raw's sister show Heat, only making sporadic appearances on the actual Raw show.[2] He had his first major storyline on the brand in April 2005 when he was aligned with Trish Stratus to take part in a rivalry against Lita and her on-screen husband Kane.[24] While they were working together, Viscera and Stratus were featured in a segment during which he attempted to "seduce" her, only to be rebuffed until he "took care of" Kane.[25] That segment began a gimmick change for Viscera, who transformed in to "The World's Largest Love Machine"; he started wrestling his matches wearing pajamas and making overtly sexual gestures in the ring. He was also put into an angle where he was smitten with Raw ring announcer Lilian Garcia and tried different tactics to seduce her every week.[26][27] At the June Vengeance pay-per-view Garcia reciprocated, proposing to him in the center of the ring, only to get turned down and left in the ring crying when The Godfather arrived with a number of his "hos" to show Viscera what he would "be leaving behind" if he got married.[28]

After the Lilian Garcia storyline ended, Viscera was paired with the like minded "ladies man" Val Venis to form the tag team V–Squared.

They teamed together for nearly nine months, mainly on Heat. They challenged for the World Tag Team Championships on a few occasions, but they never held the title.[29] When Venis was put out of action with a legitimate injury in April 2006, Viscera went back to singles wrestling. His first storyline back on his own was an attempt to reconcile with Lilian Garcia, only to be interrupted and attacked by Umaga during his proposal.[30] Two weeks later, when Garcia was (legitimately, accidentally) knocked from the ring apron by Charlie Haas, spraining her wrist;[31] the incident was worked into a storyline. Haas and Viscera began fighting over Garcia[32] – after Haas apologized[33] – and then both men betrayed her and formed a tag team when she declared she only wanted to be friends.[34] The team was split, however, when Haas was put back together with Shelton Benjamin to reform The World's Greatest Tag Team.

On June 17, 2007, Frazier was sent from the Raw brand to ECW in the supplemental section of WWE's draft.[35] Three weeks later, he debuted on ECW's weekly television program repackaged as "Big Daddy V", a powerhouse "hired gun" character in the employ of Matt Striker, arriving just in time to help Striker in his rivalry with The Boogeyman.[36] After dispatching the Boogeyman, Big Daddy V defeated Tommy Dreamer in the ECW brands Elimination Chase to become the number one contender for the ECW Championship at No Mercy,[37] but lost to CM Punk by disqualification at the pay-per-view when Striker interfered in the match.[38] He then became embroiled in a feud with SmackDown's Kane. He also participated in the No Way Out 2008 Elimination Chamber match but was eliminated early on.

He wrestled his last match in WWE against CM Punk on an edition of ECW in a Money in the Bank qualifying match, which he lost. As part of the 2008 WWE Supplemental Draft, Big Daddy V was drafted to the SmackDown brand.[39] Frazier, however, was released from his WWE contract on August 8, 2008 and never redebuted for the brand.[40]

The National Wrestling Alliance sent out a press release noting that Frazier would be competing for them under the new ring name King V. [41]

Frazier will make his film debut in 2009's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus co-starring Will Sasso & Rip Torn[42]. He also has a role in the movie Wrong Side of Town with fellow wrestlers Dave Batista and Rob Van Dam.[43]To see more of who is click here
