Who is Lisa Diane Whelchel ?

Who is Lisa Diane Whelchel? The entertainment and acting world knows Lisa Whelchel as an American actress, singer, and writer best known for her role in the television series The Facts of Life as the preppy and wealthy Blair Warner.

Life and career

Whelchel was born May 29, 1963 in Littlefield, Texas, the daughter of Jenny (née French), a real estate agent, and Jimmy Whelchel, an electrician. Lisa is the older sister of Cody Whelchel and Casey.[1] She was raised for most of her childhood in Fort Worth, Texas and got her start as a Mouseketeer on The New Mickey Mouse Club, which aired in syndication from 1977-1978.
An original cast member of The Facts of Life, Whelchel once refused a storyline that would have made her character the first among the four young women in the show to lose her virginity in that episode. Having become a Christian when she was 10, Whelchel refused because of her Christian convictions, and the storyline was rewritten for the character of "Natalie." Whelchel appeared in every episode except that one.
Although she has had other roles, her acting career effectively ended after The Facts of Life went off the air in 1988. During her role on The Facts of Life, she was offered a role in the music video for the Christian singer/songwriter Steve Taylor's "Meltdown (at Madame Tussaud's)". She also appeared in an episode of ABC's "The Love Boat" in 1983.
In 1984, Whelchel released a Christian pop album entitled All Because of You. While the album was a modest success (#17 on the Billboard Contemporary Christian charts) and received a Grammy nomination for Best Inspirational Album, Whelchel did not record a follow-up. Among the songs featured on the album were "Just Obey," "Cover Me Lord," and "Good Girl" ("Why be a good girl? Be a good girl!")
She returned to acting for the 2001 made-for-TV movie, The Facts of Life Reunion, and appeared with two of her Facts of Life co-stars (excluding Nancy McKeon, who was unable to participate in the movie) on The Today Show in the spring of 2006, admitting to being "bummed out" that Kim Fields was unable to attend.[2]
On February 1, 2007, Whelchel was reunited with Kim Fields on WFAA-TV's "Good Morning Texas." Fields was in Dallas to promote her appearance in the production, "Issues: We've All Got 'Em,'" when Whelchel was introduced as a surprise guest. It marked the first time in six years (since the reunion movie) that Fields and Whelchel even had contact. The video of the reunion is posted on YouTube.[3]

Christian ministry

Whelchel, who became a born-again Christian at age ten,[4] has devoted her life to her Christian faith. She has written books of anecdotes and advice that provide guidance on various topics which she believes should be handled in a manner appropriate to the Holy Bible. These include topics such as raising children and motherhood. Lisa has spoken about her child rearing books and methods of discipline in her 2005 interview with talk show host Drew Marshall.[5] Whelchel is also a staunch advocate of homeschooling and hotsaucing.
Whelchel has been criticized by numerous parenting groups, both Christian and non-Christian, for her views. In 2007, Mary-Alice Cross, president of the Christian Parenting Association of America (CPAA), urged parents not to buy Whelchel's books or practice any of her methods on the grounds that they are physically and emotionally abusive.
She is seldom seen in acting roles today, as she is busy raising and homeschooling her children. Whelchel "feels her current role, as a wife and mother, is her greatest, and most challenging, role yet."[6] In 2000, she founded Momtime Ministries, a religious network of mothers' groups who meet weekly to "equip and refresh and encourage" each other.[7]
She is currently on tour with the Women of Faith group.

Family

Whelchel married Steven Cauble, an associate pastor at her church, on July 9, 1988. They have three children: Tucker (born 1990), Haven (born 1991), and Clancy (born 1992).

Who is Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York?

Who is Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York? The royal world knows Princess Beatrice of York as the elder daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York. She is fifth, and the first female, in the line of succession to the thrones of 16 independent states.
As a university student, Beatrice does not regularly carry out official royal duties, however she does sometimes make appearances with the Royal Family at events, such as when she and her sister, Princess Eugenie, represented their father at a service of thanksgiving for her late aunt Diana, Princess of Wales, in 2007.

        Early life

Beatrice was born 8 August 1988 at the Portland Hospital on 8 August 1988, at 6 lbs. 12oz. (3.06 kg), the first child of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, and fifth grandchild of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She was baptised in the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace on 20 December 1988, her godparents being: Viscount Linley (her paternal cousin); the Duchess of Roxburghe (now Lady Jane Dawnay); The Hon Mrs John Greenall; and Mrs Henry Cotterell.[2] She was named after Princess Beatrice, youngest daughter of Queen Victoria.[citation needed] As a male-line grandchild of the sovereign, Beatrice was styled Her Royal Highness with the title Princess Beatrice of York.
Beatrice and her sister are the only granddaughters of the Queen to hold the title of princess and the style Her Royal Highness. Although, by Letters Patent issued by King George V, their cousin Lady Louise Windsor, is legally a princess, she is not styled as such at the request of her parents and the Queen. Their other cousin, Zara Phillips, is the Queen's granddaughter through the female line, therefore allowing her only the title and style of her father, Captain Mark Phillips.

        Education

Princess Beatrice began her early education at the independent Upton House School in Windsor, in 1991. From there, she and her sister both attended the independent Coworth Park School from 1995. Beatrice continued her education at the independent St. George's School in Ascot, where she was a pupil from 2000 to 2007. Having been diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, she delayed sitting her GCSE exams for one year. She remained at St. George's to take her A-Levels, gaining a grade A in drama, and B grades in history and film studies.[3] She was elected Head Girl in her final year.[4]
In September 2008, the Princess started a degree in history at Goldsmiths, University of London to graduate in 2011.[5]

        Personal interests

In an interview to mark her 18th birthday, Princess Beatrice said that she wanted to use her position to assist others through charity work; she had already undertaken charitable duties alongside her mother through the various organisations the Duchess supported. In 2002, Beatrice visited HIV-infected children in Russia, and, in Britain, she supported Springboard for Children (a literacy project for primary-school children with learning difficulties) and the Teenage Cancer Trust. During the summer of 2008, the Princess volunteered as a sales clerk at Selfridges, and it was reported the Princess and a friend have plans to found a fashion line.[6] In April 2010, running to raise money for Children in Crisis, she became the first member of the royal family to complete the London Marathon.[7]
Beatrice has also been involved in the film industry, becoming the first member of the Royal Family to appear in a non-documentary film when she appeared in a cameo role in The Young Victoria (2009), based around the accession and coronation of Beatrice's fourth-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. Beatrice had a minor, non-speaking role in a number of scenes.[8] Several tabloids have linked the princess with Dave Clark.[9] Dave Clark is the son of Richard Clark, an influential businessman within the Virgin Group.

        Official duties

Princess Beatrice has been present at a number of official royal occasions, such as Trooping the Colour in London, and the Queen's 80th birthday. She and her sister were also guests at the Concert for Diana, in memory of their late aunt organised by their cousins, Princes William, Duke of Cambridge and Harry of Wales. Both princesses attended the service of thanksgiving for Diana on 1 September 2007, representing their father, who was on an official visit to Malaysia. Princess Beatrice was present at the 2011 Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. At the wedding, Princess Beatrice's hat was noted by the media as an odd choice of fashion.

The Princess's style and title in full: Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York. As a British princess, Beatrice holds no surname; however, as with the other male-line grandchildren of Elizabeth II, she uses the name of the area over which her father holds title, i.e. York (as Prince Harry uses Wales, per his father, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales).

          Who is Benjamin Millepied?

Who is Benjamin Millepied? The entertainment world knows Benjamin Millepied as a principal dancer at New York City Ballet[2] and a ballet choreographer of international reputation.

          Early life

Millepied was  born 10 June 1977 in Bordeaux, France[2] and raised in Dakar, Senegal. His ballet training started at the age of eight with his mother, a former ballet dancer. Between the ages of 13 and 16 he studied with Michel Rahn at the Conservatoire National in Lyon, France.

          Career

In the summer of 1992 he attended classes at the School of American Ballet (SAB) and returned to study full time in 1993, with a scholarship from the French Ministry (Bourse Lavoisier or Lavoisier Scholarship). At SAB's 1994 Spring Workshop he originated a principal role in Jerome Robbins' premiere of 2 and 3 Part Inventions and also received the Prix de Lausanne. Millepied joined New York City Ballet's corps de ballet in 1995, was promoted to soloist in 1998 and became principal dancer in 2002.[2] Millepied is also a choreographer, creating dances for City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and his own company, Danses Concertantes.[3][4] In 2009 he served as choreographer for Black Swan, a psychological thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky which stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as ballet dancers in New York City.[5] A couple of months into filming, Millepied found himself on the other side of the camera playing the part of Kunis's and Portman's dance partner. He didn't have very many lines, but when asked about acting he told Details "I really, really got into it...I was blown away—especially by Natalie, who was amazing to watch".[6] Following the release of Black Swan the movie was parodied on Saturday Night Live with Taran Killam as Millepied.

          Personal life

Millepied met actress Natalie Portman on the set of Black Swan in early 2009. It was reported that they had at least begun dating by New Year's Eve 2009. On December 27, 2010 it was revealed that Millepied and Natalie Portman were engaged and expecting a child in the summer of 2011. On June 14 it was announced Natalie had given birth to a baby boy.[7]
